# I can split a shipment

This guide explains how to split a shipment using the logistics module.

**Step 1:** Navigate to the logistics module and open the **shipments** tab.

**Step 2:** Choose the shipment to work on.

**Step 3:** Proceed to the **container** step.

**Step 4:** Pick the container to add to a new shipment.

**Step 5:** Click on **create a shipment**.

**Step 6:** Select **New shipment**.

**Step 7:** Fill in the **reference** and the **BL number** if desired.

**Step 8:** Click on **save**. A confirmation pop-up will appear.

**Step 9:** Confirm the action by clicking on **yes, override, and continue**.

The selected container will be removed from the current shipment and a new shipment will be created with it. The new Shipment will be displayed in the Shipments View.
